“Life Saving Information” – Empowering Youth for Safer Roads

Kastamonu, Türkiye | 16 – 23 July 2025

From 16th to 23rd July 2025, our team from Asociación IF Green World proudly joined the international youth project “Life Saving Information” held in Kastamonu, Turkey. The project brought together 40 young participants and youth workers from several countries, all united by one goal: to make our roads and communities safer.

This meaningful initiative focused on raising traffic safety awareness, improving first aid and emergency response skills, and empowering young people to take responsibility for safety in their communities.

Throughout the week, participants took part in interactive trainings, workshops, and simulations designed to make learning both engaging and practical.

Traffic Safety Training: We learned about road rules, safe driving habits, and pedestrian safety through dynamic sessions filled with discussions and quizzes.

Emergency Response Workshops: Professional trainers guided us through the steps to take in the event of an accident or fire, emphasizing calm and effective responses.

First Aid Practice: Hands-on first aid demonstrations taught us how to assist injured individuals and potentially save lives before professional help arrives.

Simulations & Role-Plays: Realistic accident scenarios challenged participants to apply their new skills, strengthening teamwork and quick decision-making.

The highlight of the project was the Awareness Campaign, designed and implemented by the participants themselves. Using social media, posters, and street interviews, young people spread powerful messages about responsible driving, safe behavior, and helping others in need.

These creative efforts didn’t just stay within the project group — they reached the local community in Kastamonu, inspiring others to think twice about their safety on the roads.

The project also encouraged collaboration with local institutions, such as traffic departments and first aid centers. These visits allowed participants to meet real-life professionals and understand the importance of teamwork in emergency situations.

Our participants, together with peers from Turkey and other partner countries, built strong friendships and networks that will continue to promote safety awareness beyond borders.

By the end of the project, every participant left with not only knowledge but also a sense of empowerment and responsibility.

We learned how to act in emergencies.

We gained confidence to educate others.

For Asociación IF Green World, taking part in Life Saving Information reaffirmed our belief that youth participation and education can truly save lives. Through cooperation, solidarity, and shared learning, we are shaping a generation that values both safety and social responsibility.
