Life Saving Information: Bringing First Aid Awareness to the Streets

The third day of the Erasmus+ Youth Exchange project "Life Saving Information" (Project No: 2024-3-TR01-KA152-YOU-000290673) combined practical training with community engagement. Coordinated by Taşköprü Pompeipolis Motorcycle Users Solidarity Association, the project continues to bring together participants from Germany, Spain, Türkiye, Ukraine to promote first aid awareness and responsible citizenship.

The morning programme featured comprehensive first aid training sessions covering emergency situations such as heart attacks, fractures, burns, choking, and poisoning. Following the theoretical presentations, participants worked in groups to perform realistic simulations, allowing them to apply their newly acquired knowledge in practice.

One of the day's highlights was the "Help ME" Flash Mob activity. Participants staged a realistic emergency scenario in a public area to observe how local people reacted to someone apparently in need of first aid. The activity encouraged public involvement and raised awareness about correct first aid practices. Citizens who responded appropriately were recognized with certificates of appreciation and first aid kits, while the Erasmus+ Programme and the objectives of the project were introduced to the wider community.

The day concluded with the First Aid Diary reflection activity, where participants documented what they had learned and reflected on the importance of acting responsibly in emergency situations. The discussions reinforced the idea that life-saving knowledge is not only a personal competence but also a social responsibility that can make a significant difference within communities.
