SUSTAINABLE YOUTH MOVEMENT - From Carbon Footprints to Renewable Energy

The Sustainable Youth Movement project (Reference No: 2025-1-ES02-KA152-YOU-000297338) was implemented in Córdoba, Spain, from 09.10.2025 to 16.10.2025 under the Erasmus+ KA152 Youth Exchange programme, hosted by IF Asociación. Its main objectives were to raise young people’s awareness of environmental sustainability, strengthen their knowledge and skills in addressing climate change, and foster international cooperation among participants from different countries.


Outdoor breathing and movement activities encouraged participants to improve both their physical and mental well-being while connecting more closely with nature. These activities highlighted that sustainability is not only about protecting natural resources but also about adopting healthy lifestyles that contribute to individual and community well-being. Through direct interaction with the natural environment, participants developed a deeper appreciation for environmentally conscious ways of living.


Educational sessions focusing on the concept of the carbon footprint explored how everyday activities affect the environment. Participants examined how transportation choices, energy consumption, dietary habits, and waste production contribute to greenhouse gas emissions. This helped them better understand the impact of individual actions on climate change and strengthened their sense of environmental responsibility.


Practical workshops provided participants with the opportunity to calculate their own carbon footprints using digital tools. After analysing the results, they reflected on their consumption habits and discussed concrete strategies for reducing their environmental impact. The activity demonstrated that sustainable living can be achieved through simple but meaningful changes in everyday behaviour.


Group research activities on renewable energy sources allowed participants to explore sustainable energy systems in greater depth. Teams investigated solar, wind, hydroelectric, biomass, and geothermal energy, evaluating their benefits, limitations, and potential applications in different countries. The presentations and discussions that followed increased participants’ understanding of clean energy solutions and reinforced the crucial role of renewable energy in building a more sustainable future.
