The Sustainable Youth Movement project (Reference No: 2025-1-ES02-KA152-YOU-000297338) was implemented in Córdoba, Spain, from 09.10.2025 to 16.10.2025 under the Erasmus+ KA152 Youth Exchange programme, hosted by IF Asociación. The project brought together young participants from Azerbaijan, Germany, Spain, Türkiye, Ukraine. The main aim of the project was to raise awareness about environmental sustainability, climate change, renewable energy, and eco-friendly lifestyles while encouraging young people to become active contributors to a more sustainable future. Through non-formal education methods and intercultural cooperation, participants developed both environmental awareness and important personal and social competences.

Throughout the project, participants explored key sustainability concepts such as climate change, global warming, carbon footprints, fossil fuels, renewable energy sources, and sustainable development. Interactive workshops, research activities, group presentations, and educational games enabled them to gain a deeper understanding of environmental challenges and the actions needed to address them. These activities strengthened their critical thinking, research, communication, and teamwork skills while promoting active participation in the learning process.

Practical experiences played an important role in transforming knowledge into action. Nature observation activities helped participants reconnect with the environment and better understand the importance of protecting natural ecosystems. Tree-planting initiatives provided a hands-on opportunity to contribute directly to environmental conservation, demonstrating how individual efforts can create positive impacts within local communities. Participants also calculated their own carbon footprints and reflected on lifestyle changes that could reduce their environmental impact.

The project further explored innovative solutions for a sustainable future through workshops on renewable energy and environmentally friendly technologies. Participants designed sustainable cities, developed clean energy strategies for imaginary communities, and examined digital solutions that support environmental protection and resource efficiency. These activities encouraged creativity, problem-solving, and innovation while demonstrating the potential of technology and renewable energy in tackling global environmental challenges.

Study visits and meetings with organisations working in the field of environmental protection allowed participants to learn from real-life examples of sustainability in practice. At the same time, intercultural activities created opportunities for young people to share their traditions, values, and perspectives, strengthening mutual understanding and respect among participants from different countries. The exchange of experiences highlighted the importance of international cooperation in addressing common environmental challenges.

As a result of the project, participants increased their knowledge of sustainability and climate action, developed practical skills for promoting environmentally responsible behaviour, and gained greater confidence in their ability to contribute to positive change. They strengthened their intercultural communication, teamwork, leadership, and active citizenship competences while building lasting international friendships and networks. The project demonstrated that young people can play a vital role in creating a greener, more sustainable, and more inclusive future when they are provided with the knowledge, tools, and opportunities to take action.
